Thanks Ghada for the info.
So I will keep current mellanox driver, since it is already higher than the version supported by dpdk.

Best Regards
Shuicheng

My apologies ...I included the wrong version for starlingx below. The correct version is: 4.3.3.0.2.1

srcrpm name: mlnx-ofa_kernel-4.3-OFED.4.3.3.0.2.1.gcf60532.tis.1.src.rpm

Hi Shuicheng,
I found the recommended Mellanox versions in the DPDK documentation. You are correct in that this information is not explicitly listed on the Mellanox website.

For DPDK 17.11, it lists the Mellanox OFED version as 4.2 https://doc.dpdk.org/guides-17.11/nics/mlx5.html
See section 21.5.1.2

For DPDK 18.02 & 18.05, the versions listed are: 4.2 & 4.3 https://doc.dpdk.org/guides-18.02/nics/mlx5.html
https://doc.dpdk.org/guides-18.05/nics/mlx5.html

For DPDK 18.08, the versions listed are: 4.3 & 4.4 https://doc.dpdk.org/guides-18.08/nics/mlx5.html

In StarlingX, we are currently using dpdk 17.11 (bundled w/ ovs-dpdk). The mellanox driver version we are using is 4.3.1.0.1.1

Regards,
Ghada

Hi Ghada/Brent,
I try to go through the doc in mellanox website, but cannot find the matrix between mlx driver and DPDK.
Could you do me a favor where could I get it?
Thanks.

Here I get the latest mlx driver:
http://www.mellanox.com/page/products_dyn?product_family=26&mtag=linux_sw_drivers

From the dpdk package (dpdk-17.05.2.tar.gz) in our code, I get below info, which seems obsolete.
"
Currently supported by DPDK:
- Mellanox OFED version: **4.0-2.0.0.0** "

Best Regards
Shuicheng

Agenda & Notes for 10/10 meeting:
1. Bugs for 2018.10 review (Ghada)
no pending storyboard & bugs. Cheers!

2. non-OpenStack patch analysis status (Saul/Zhipeng) init related patches, current build related ones merged by Austin; Zhipeng is looking into solutions for the init related patches to remove from individual RPMs.
deep dive to some upstream source level patches and analysis WIP.
Brent submitted several new stories and please mark it as "stx-non-distro" tag.

3. Fuzz patch guideline and follow-up actions (Brent/Shuicheng) Going forward we should put guideline for strictly no fuzz patch. AR: Cindy to put a developer guideline to: https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/StarlingX/CodeSubmissionGuidelines
https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/2003917 include all fuzz patches, most of them are merged. Shuicheng will add more tasks (few left) within this week.
There is not much we can do w/ the upstreamed patches from sRPM for now.
story for upgrade rpm to v14 is not required for now. rpm v14 requires OpenSSH v1.1 and we cannot upgrade from a lower version. For now, the system limitation is that we cannot install the same package with different version simultaneously.

4. Kernel driver upgrade status (Shuicheng) https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/2003597, all patches are ready and pending for testing.
Intel GDC do not have appropriate test systems available.
AR: Cindy to coordinate Ada about the HW required to run the testing.
Mellanox driver version: how to define the version# to upgrade? choose the latest version. usually the version we pick shall be aligned w/ the version in the DPDK supported. Need to look for the version from the Mellanox page. AR: Shuicheng to check the version to make sure it compatible w/ DPDK version in our current mainline.

5. Ceph upgrade status (Vivian/Dehao) - no update due to holiday 6. Opens (All)
