Hello Everyone,

I’ve developed the Collect Filesystem tool which is now available for the StarlingX community. You can use this tool to store large collect files when reporting bugs via Launchpad. Simply use the tool to upload a file and then add its URL location into the Launchpad bug. You no longer need to split up large collect files and attach multiple files to your bugs.

It uses Flask as its framework and OpenID for user identification. The current address is https://files.starlingx.kube.cengn.ca/

To register, key in your OpenID at the sign in page. This id can be found in your Launchpad profile.

[cid:a58a1e0f-a919-45e2-8ef6-b53b9048ab01] [cid:a1c4a3da-be4b-4fc1-bf42-75a8838a567f]

This will take you to the Ubuntu One login page, use your own credentials for that. As this is the first time you sign in, you will be asked to create your profile.

As the registration complete, you now have access to all features in the Collect Filesystem. Use the navigation menu on the left to use those features.

The profile page contains your user information that can be modified any time. You can delete your profile if you wish, but be warned that you will loose all the files you uploaded and it will not be recoverable.

The upload page allows you to upload and store your files on the server. A StarlingX Launchpad need to be specified, and the application only accepts valid collect log files.

The personal files and public files pages list the files uploaded by yourself and by the entire community. You have the options to rename, delete and change the Launchpad of your own log files.

The launchpads page let users find files by launchpads for which users have previously uploaded collect logs. You will be able to search through the launchpads by their title or id. You can also download the files under a specific Launchpad as a compressed file.

Thank you everyone, I hope you like this tool. Please let myself and Al Bailey know if you have any suggestions or feedback to improve this tool.

Sincerely,

Nathan Chen
