I found the following changes [0] and file [1] (see function create_controller_filesystems)  to help how StarlingX partitions are defined.

Does your use case demands to have this mirrored system for fail-over strictly in a Simplex configuration?
Duplex allows you to replicate your controller-0 with controller-1 via drdb, is there anything I am missing for your use case to avoid a Duplex configuration?
