Release Team Meeting - February 7 2020
stx.4.0
- CentOS 8
          - Discussions are in progress to limit the scope of the stx.4.0 feature to de-risk the delivery and prioritize the key items
                  - Brent sent a proposal to the distro.other sub-project which will be reviewed in the next sub-project meeting
                  - If resources are freed up from CentOS8, there is a possibility they can contribute to other key initiatives
          - From Saul:
                 - Starting to create the CentOS8 mirror on CENGN as some of the older packages are being updated already
                 - Also need to keep in mind the request to move to an even newer kernel (4.19) to support TSN in containers and be mindful of needing to support newer kernels
                 - Need to have CentOS 8 as a base first before getting to this

- Layered Build
          - Still finding issues when attempting to build using layered build on CENGN infrastructure.
          - Scott is working on a solution and expects to have a review shortly.
          - Close to getting the code merged by early next week.
                 - Side Note: This will have an impact on the CentOS8 feature branch

- Next Milestone: Milestone-2 is planned for March 23
          - Criteria: https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/StarlingX/Release_Plan#Release_Milestones
                 - Spec freeze; no new specs accepted for the release. The focus is on closing current specs
                 - Feature plans defined and feature development well underway
                 - Release test plan defined - including test automation deliverables

- stx mid-cycle meeting is on March 3-4
          - Need to share a release status during the meeting
          - Would like to review release pain points
