[Starlingx-discuss] StarlingX 5.0 installation problem tiller version
by John Casey 07 Sep '21

07 Sep '21
Hi all - Noob here. Not sure where to post this too. Installation of 5.0 fails because of tiller version out of date - system-images.yml tiller_img: gcr.io/kubernetes-helm/tiller:v2.16.1 fix requires changing to version v2.17.0

[Starlingx-discuss] [docs] [meeting] Docs team notes 01-Sep-21
by Camp, MaryX 03 Sep '21

03 Sep '21
Hello all, Here are this week's docs team meeting minutes (short form). Details in [2]. Join us if you have interest in StarlingX docs! We meet on Wednesdays 12:30 PST.   [1]   Call logistics: https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Starlingx/Meetings   [2]   Tracking Etherpad: https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/stx-documentation thanks, Mary Camp ========== 01-Sep-21 . All -- reviews merged since last meeting:  3  All in R5 branch . All -- bug status -- 17 total - team agrees to defer all low priority LP until the upstreaming effort is completed.  Status/questions/opens >From last week's meeting:      Duplicated headings on all the STX doc pages. The review that may fix it is still open:  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/openstackdocstheme/+/798897          Cherry picking discussion from below, any updates? No updates, Greg is out for a couple more weeks. Ron will follow up.          Is this a lesson learned / something to plan for when we get closer to R6?         Questions about cherry picking the WRO content into our R5 branch of documentation?       R5 Retrospective We started talking about this, but had to stop on the hour. We'll revisit next week.  Things that went well Things that didn't go well Processes that need improvement  Handling Installation guide changes     don't cut the Rn+1 install docs immediately at release time, hold off for <some amount of time> (until patches slow down) OR until the first Feature comes along?     on the install page, Rn+1 header just points to Rn install guides until features start coming in?           Could we do this now with R6 to avoid current situation of duplicate effort <<< Need Greg's feedback on this.

[Starlingx-discuss] StarlingX Community Marketing calls - NEW MEETING TIME POLL
by Ildiko Vancsa 03 Sep '21

03 Sep '21
Hi, As you know we are having a bi-weekly community marketing meeting to discuss how to spread the news about the project and the community at places like the blog, social media, website, events and more. The current meeting time is currently in a conflict for a few of us so I created a poll to find a better one. The meetings will still run with a bi-weekly cadence. If you are interested in participating in the meeting series please __fill out this poll by the end of next week (September 12)__: https://doodle.com/poll/ispbsc67mymng8tz?utm_source=poll&utm_medium=link Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks and Best Regards, Ildikó

[Starlingx-discuss] Updating active contributors in projects.yaml - ACTION NEEDED
by Ildiko Vancsa 01 Sep '21

01 Sep '21
Hi, We have a list of active contributors maintained in the projects.yaml file in the governance repository to list those contributors who are not identified through querying Git already. Currently we use this list when we pull the electorate list for elections and therefore it is very important to keep that list up to date to make sure the scripts work correctly. I just recognized that the term expired last November for contributors currently listed and therefore we need to update the list to capture those who are still actively contributing, but can’t be identified through our semi-automated process. You can see the lists maintained for each project here: https://opendev.org/starlingx/governance/src/branch/master/reference/tsc/pr… I would like to ask the PLs to look into the list of contributors in the file above for their project team(s) and update the list(s): * Add new contributors - ONLY those people who do NOT have any merged patches in a sub-project they are contributing to * Remove contributors who haven’t been active since November, 2020 * Update the term of still active contributors to November, 2022 __Please start updating the list(s) as soon as possible so we can use the data for the upcoming elections.__ Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks and Best Regards, Ildikó
