Hi Frank,

OK, I will raise a patch to enable this flag as you mentioned.

Thanks!

Zhipeng:

My recommendation would be to implement a nova override change as suggested by Gerry in the LP notes to enable a user to resize a VM onto the same compute host and do this both for All-in-one and Standard configurations.  We have had requests from users in the past for this capability and this will align the stx2.0 behavior with stx1.0 behavior.  I think you should implement the nova override change for stx2.0.  I don’t think we should ask users to manually make this change every time they want to support a VM resize to the same host.

Hi all,

About VM resize failed by "No valid host was found"

https://bugs.launchpad.net/starlingx/+bug/1824412

Root cause is Nova project already removed the setting of nova config option

allow_resize_to_same_host to true by default. (see https://review.opendev.org/#/c/615707/)

Do we need to provide a fix to enable it only for AIO, or according to upstream’s comment, just set it

to true during single-host environment test?

Any comment?

Thanks!

Zhipeng
