Hi team
I might need a bit of help, I am trying to build an STX ISO, I am failing at the step :
[builder@5f9b406601e6 cgcs-root]$ build-pkgs
kernel/kernel-modules/drbd/rpmbuild [0/1856] 17:54:11 Wrote: /localdisk/loadbuild/builder/starlingx/rt/rpmbuild/SOURCES/drbd-kernel -rt/srpm_input.md5 17:54:11 SRPM build not required for '/localdisk/designer/builder/starlingx/cgcs-root/ stx/stx-integ/kernel/kernel-modules/drbd' 17:54:11 ===== Build complete for 'drbd-kernel-rt' ===== 17:54:11 17:54:11 17:54:11 Auditing for obsolete srpms 17:54:12 Auditing for obsolete srpms Phase 2 17:54:12 Delete /localdisk/loadbuild/builder/starlingx/rt/tmp-builder-build-srpms-seri al-audit-X5LJ7z 17:54:12 Auditing for obsolete srpms done 17:54:12 ==== Update repodata ===== 17:54:12 Directory walk started 17:54:12 Directory walk done - 13 packages 17:54:12 Temporary output repo path: /localdisk/loadbuild/builder/starlingx/rt/rpmbuil d/SRPMS/.repodata/ 17:54:12 Preparing sqlite DBs 17:54:12 Pool started (with 5 workers) 17:54:12 Pool finished 17:54:12 ==== Update repodata complete ===== 17:54:12 17:54:12 No packages required a rebuild

I think these lines are your root cause. Can you manually execute the following without error:
$ mkdir -p /localdisk/loadbuild/builder/starlingx/rt/tmp $ mktemp /starlingx/rt/tmp/builder-build-rpms-serial-need-build-XXXXXX
Thanks for your kind reply Jason and Yong, finally after few days trying and with the help from other local folks i was able to: 13:26:42 MAKING /localdisk/loadbuild/builder/starlingx/export/report.txt 13:26:43 ISO REPORT: /localdisk/loadbuild/builder/starlingx/export/report.txt 13:26:43 Done.Output file: /localdisk/loadbuild/builder/starlingx/export/bootimage.iso Now, 2 questions question came to my mind: 1) what stop us from update the documentation? 2) have we consider making a script for all the build process? since are always the same steps .. why not having a shell script that run all the documented ( and undocumented ) instructions ?? Thanks Victor Rodriguez

Mon Jan 28 17:54:14 UTC 2019: build-rpm-serial --rt failed with rc=1
And because of this error then I get:
[builder@5f9b406601e6 cgcs-root]$ build-iso 18:04:37 Debug: Packages still unresolved: 18:04:37 18:04:40 Could not resolve packages: kernel-rt kernel-rt-kvm kernel-rt-tools kmod-drbd-rt kmod-e1000e-rt kmod-i40e-rt kmod-integrity-rt kmod-ixgbe-rt kmod-tpm-rt mlnx-ofa_kernel-rt-modules qat17-rt 18:04:40 Error -- could not install all explicitly listed packages 18:04:40 Could not install dependencies
Any clue how to address this issue
All the other steps were addressed, with the minor bug that i had to download few tar balls from CENGN manually
I am following a mix and match of 3 documentation to compile the ISO image:
https://docs.starlingx.io/developer_guide/index.html http://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/stx-tools/tree/README.rst https://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/stx- docs/tree/doc/source/developer_guide/index.rst?h=refs/changes/43/61904 3/9
It might be a good idea to just create one documentation point easy to automate ( and provide the script )
Thanks a lot to Abraham and Hayde for addressing my questions on building the STX image
Regards
Victor Rodriguez
