Hi, Thank you @Douglas for sharing your comment and proposal on the project's forming new mission statement! We covered this topic and activity at the PTG only briefly, as we were running out of time. To continue the conversation, I would like re-surface the etherpad we created to capture comments and feedback: https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/starlingx-mission-statement We currently have 3 mission statement candidates for the StarlingX project. It is very important for the community to think through and agree on the mission that we are working towards! - You can add comments and feedback to the etherpad. - You can vote on the current proposals by adding ‘+1’ next to the one that you like the most. - You can also add a new proposal, if you formulated one that you feel explains the project’s mission better than the proposals we have already. We can continue the discussion on this mail thread and on the etherpad. The Community call is also a great place to discuss feedback and views with regards to the project’s overall mission and mission statement options. Please let me know if you have any questions. Hi Ildikó,
Unfortunately, I won't be able to join the PTG discussions next week. However, I wanted to share my thoughts regarding the proposed mission statement for the StarlingX project.
While I appreciate the current mission statement, I believe we should emphasize the project's versatility and its ability to address a wide range of solutions. Additionally, I think it's important to highlight that StarlingX is not just solving a problem, but providing a practical solution for real-world use cases.
With that in mind, I suggest a revised mission statement: "Empower organizations to deploy and manage high-performance, distributed cloud infrastructure at scale by providing a powerful and flexible solution."
Thank you for considering my input. Please let me know if there is anything else I can contribute remotely to the PTG discussions.
Best regards, Doug

Hi,
I just saw that the mission statement topic is already added to the PTG agenda, currently for Wednesday, so we can have a conversation about the current proposal and next steps at the event.
If anyone has comments about the current proposal, please feel free to also share that here prior to the event next week, to help bring the conversation forward.
Thanks and Best Regards, Ildikó

Hi StarlingX Community,
I'm reaching out to you with an update from today's mission statement workshop that we had during the marketing team call today.
The group who participated in today's discussion, came up with the following proposal for a revised mission statement:
"Solve the operational problem of deploying and managing high-performance, distributed cloud infrastructure at scale."
We decided to keep close to the current statement since the community's focus is still on making it easier to deploy and manage distributed infrastructure on a large scale, which we felt important to highlight.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi StarlingX Community,
As a follow up to the PTG the StarlingX Marketing team started to work on proposals to update the project's mission statement.
The team would like to ask the community for input so we can have a more guided activity and better fitting results. The questions we raised during the Marketing meeting yesterday: * What will be the community's priorities for the short to mid-term future, meaning the next 1-3 years? * What is the community's vision with regards to challenges that the StarlingX platform is developed and shaped to solve and address?
To ensure progress the Marketing team set up an ad-hoc meeting time for Monday (November 14) at 11am US Pacific Time, to have a workshop and work on options. Anyone who is interested in participating in that conversation please join us on the call!
