+ Ada for feature testing.

It’s so nice to know that basic TSN support shall be already in 2.0 (even in 1.0). This is one of the critical features to support Industrial use case.

As TSN spec got approved as 3.0 feature, I guess we may have to run full feature testing according to your wiki pages before we can claim the full support. @Ada, do you have engineer assigned to work w/ network team on this important feature?

Thx. - cindy

Cindy,

There is no patches pending for merging.

TSN PTP feature had already been supported in STX 1.0, and the wiki verified how other TSN features can be deployed in STX through PCI-Passthrough (But there may still be confliction with STX PTP feature, e.g. STX PTP feature requires Nic be available in host, but due to the Nic e.g. Intel i210 does not support SRIOV, in case it is pass-through into VM to support TSN application, it will be not available in host then the STX PTP feature will not work). I have no concern and Core/TSC team can review and determine how to claim if no more concern about the process, thanks much!

Best Regards,

Le, Huifeng

Huifeng,

Seems like TSN support is based on Nova PCI pass-through for i210 network adaptor. Do you have any Nova patches or StarlingX patches pending merge (and need cherry pick) to allow the procedures in wiki page to be successful?

If there are no patches pending, can we claim that TSN feature is already supported in stx.2.0?

Thx. - cindy

Brent, Matt, Ruijing,

As following up on story: [Feature] Time Sensitive Networking (https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/2005516) and approved spec https://review.opendev.org/#/c/666768/, we had done the POC to deploy and run TSN application on STX environment, the detail process and learning are summarized at Wiki: https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/StarlingX/Networking/TSN which can be served as deliverable of task “StarlingX user guide on how to deploy TSN in VM”. Could you please help to review the Wiki and let me know if you have any comments.

Thanks much!

Best Regards,

Le, Huifeng
