07/07/2021 Agenda items: kernel repo size/clone options alternatives Attendees: Scott Little, Bart Wensley, Jason Norton, Bill Zvonar, Charles Short, Mark Asselstine 1. Kernel Repo Size * Temporary measures to deal with the larger kernel download size seem to be holding (Thanks Scott) * Discussions underway to determine best approach to use as a perm solution * Ideally using a safe transport (https) * Ideally includes git history * Could review again as part of Debian transition (separate repotool manifest) 2. Be aware that parts of BPF and CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT are incompatible * https://lwn.net/Articles/802884/ * STX will have to make a recommendation to users regarding this 3. OS Distro * Work continues and related reviews will be available on Gerrit * Switch to Aptly instead of Pulp mostly done. A review of the state of the Aptly project shows that the project is not 'healthy' (https://github.com/aptly-dev/aptly/issues/920)so Aptly is definitely just a temporary move until Pulp has the needed features added * Kernel v5.10 work continues, many reviews now on Gerrit 4. Python Status * Work continues Next Meeting: July 21, 2021 Meeting Minutes: https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/stx-distro-other
