Thanks for the pointer, when I try to install the host there is no option to select All-in-one Controller:
Starting installer, one moment...
anaconda 21.48.22.147-1 for CentOS 7 started.
* installation log files are stored in /tmp during the installation
* shell is available on TTY2
* when reporting a bug add logs from /tmp as separate text/plain attachments

Is there a way to control it by some other means? Please let me know

The system type is standard. Only duplex is supported with a standard install. If you want a simplex install you’ll need to reinstall the host and specify ‘All-in-one Controller Configuration’ in the boot menu.

The default “system_mode” value is “simplex”, as far as I know, so I think the only way it would get set to duplex is if that was set in the localhost.yml used. I would double check the file on your system and the ansible.log to ensure you don’t have it set twice, maybe, or inadvertently used the wrong localhost.yml file.

Please double-check your localhost.yml that you haven’t set “system_mode: duplex”. I don’t think you should see this error message on simplex.
Please do “system show”

Your error is referring to the management interface, but you’ve included your oam interface config for reference.

I’m getting error while trying to install the virtual AIO-SX. I have installed the ansible playbook
ansible-playbook /usr/share/ansible/stx-ansible/playbooks/bootstrap.yml
Ran these commands
source /etc/platform/openrc
OAM_IF=enp2s1
system host-if-modify controller-0 $OAM_IF -c platform
system interface-network-assign controller-0 $OAM_IF oam
system ntp-modify ntpservers=0.pool.ntp.org,1.pool.ntp.org
