Quick license question
Hi StarlingX community, I have a couple of quick questions regarding licenses in StarlingX. I remember when the project graduated years ago that there were some components with GPLv2 and GPLv3 licenses. I assume the project still have some of those components, but with a manual search it is hard to confirm one way or the other. Is there documentation anywhere about what licenses does the StarlingX project incorporate? Also, is the community running any license checks as part of the project's CI? Thanks, Ildikó ——— Ildikó Váncsa Director of Community Open Infrastructure Foundation
Hi Ildiko. There are definitely GPLv2 components included, e.g. the Linux kernel. I'm not aware of any GPLv3 components, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. AFAIK there are no license checks or scanners run in CI. brucej -----Original Message----- From: Ildiko Vancsa <ildiko@openinfra.dev> Sent: Monday, February 17, 2025 11:37 AM To: StarlingX ML <starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io> Subject: Quick license question CAUTION: This email comes from a non Wind River email account!
