[Starlingx-discuss] Intro - CarletonU
Hello to All StarlingX Community, We are a group of senior undergrad students at Carleton University and are willing to use StarlingX in our capstone project. We'd perform some experimentation on the scalability of edge workloads in a distributed cloud infrastructure. E.g., inter-edge cloud offloading, etc. We'd appreciate it if you could give us some direction or ideas to consider or think about. We want to turn our efforts into a contribution. Certainly, we'll share our observations with the community! Kind regards, Mohammed
Hi Mohammed, For edge workers, StarlingX started adding some features in R5 as mentioned here https://opendev.org/starlingx/specs/src/branch/master/doc/source/specs/stx-5... I believe that is still only in phase 1, but it gives an outline of where it is going. I would think that if you are looking to engage in this area, this might give you some ideas. For distributed cloud setup, it can be can be tricky. Once you get one subcloud up, the others should be straightforward. https://docs.starlingx.io/deploy_install_guides/r5_release/distributed_cloud... Hi Bill, Al, Thanks for your emails. Yes, I'll make it. I've just posted this "A 5-minutes ppt on a capstone project proposal on scalability of edge workloads in a distributed cloud infrastructure" in the Community Meeting Agenda. Thank you AI, for the links. I'll consider them to find something achievable within our project resources and timeline. FYI, I'll present an overview of the project plan to the community meeting on Nov 10, 2021.
