[Starlingx-discuss] Nominate Jim Somerville as stx-integ core as kernel expert
Hi folks, I don't know if there's some official process, but I'd like to nominate Jim Somerville as a core for stx-integ. He is our primary kernel developer/expert on our Wind River team, and I've been treating him as a core-by-proxy for any kernel-related updates. I don't generally give any kernel or related reviews a +2 until I know Jim is happy with the changes, and any kernel issues or questions end up going to him. Thanks, Don. Don Penney, Developer, Wind River
The official process is defined here [0]. It says: "Core Reviewers for a sub-project are appointed by the sub-project Technical Lead with input from other StarlingX Core Reviewers." It's somewhat informal. I suspect the real review will come from the submission of a change in openstack gerrit that grants the new Core his awesome +2 power. It's even more informal that that actually, the stx-integ TL adds him to starlingx-integ-core. Core groups are self-maintaining. The tradition upstream is for the existing cores to +1/-1 in this thread and then the PTL makes the change after a period of time, usually a week-ish. And in this case, I don't have a core-member vote but my first response was "isn't Jim already in that group?" +1 dt -- Dean Troyer dtroyer@gmail.com
FWIW, As an stx-integ core… I +2 this request… Regards, Bob From: "Jones, Bruce E" <bruce.e.jones@intel.com> Date: Friday, January 25, 2019 at 10:59 AM To: "Penney, Don" <Don.Penney@windriver.com>, "'starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io' (starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io)" <starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io> Subject: Re: [Starlingx-discuss] Nominate Jim Somerville as stx-integ core as kernel expert The official process is defined here [0].
