[Starlingx-discuss] TSC Election Campaigning started
Hi StarlingX Community, As the previous election update email stated, we will be running the campaign and voting periods to have the TSC seats (re)elected. We have 4 TSC candidates, and 3 of the 4 candidates are affiliated with the same company. As the StarlingX charter states, there can NOT be more than 2 people on the TSC affiliated to the same company, therefore we will need to determine which 2 out of the 3 candidates will get elected, which the community will do by voting in the next phase of the election. TSC candidates who are participating the campaign to run for the 2 seats are: - Bruce Jones - Steve Geary - Greg Waines The StarlingX TSC Election Campaigning Period has now started [1] and will __end next Tuesday (November 14) at 2045 UTC.__ During the next couple days, you are all encouraged to ask the candidates questions about their platforms [2], opinions on StarlingX, community governance, and anything else that will help you to better determine how you will vote. This is the time to raise any issues you wish the future TSC to consider, and to evaluate the opinions of the nominees prior to their election. Candidates: Each of you has posted a platform[2], and announced your nomination to the project contributors. From this point, you are encouraged to ask each other questions about the posted platforms, and begin discussion of any points that you feel are particularly important during the next cycle. While you are not yet TSC members for the upcoming term, your voices and opinions about the issues raised in your platforms and questions raised by the wider community will help ensure that the future TSC has the widest possible input on the matters of community concern, and the electorate has the best information to determine the ideal TSC composition to address these and other issues that may arise. Hi StarlingX TSC candidates, I would like to use the opportunity to ask you a question as part of the TSC election campaign period. Growing and diversifying the community has been an important topic for the project since its inception. What do you see as the biggest challenge for the community currently in achieving that goal? And, what would be your strategy to resolve the challenges and support this effort? Best Regards, Ildikó ——— Ildikó Váncsa Senior Manager, Community & Ecosystem Open Infrastructure Foundation

Hi Ildiko and the StarlingX community. I'm going to cast my votes for Steve and for Greg, and to make it easier on everyone else to do the same, I am withdrawing my candidacy for the TSC. Both are better candidates than me. It is in the best interest of the project for them be on the TSC. brucej -----Original Message----- From: Ildiko Vancsa <ildiko.vancsa@gmail.com> Sent: Wednesday, November 8, 2023 8:13 AM To: StarlingX ML <starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io> Subject: [Starlingx-discuss] TSC Election Campaigning started CAUTION: This email comes from a non Wind River email account! Hi Bruce, Thank you for sending the note, I’m sorry to hear that you are withdrawing your candidacy. Thank you again for considering to run for a StarlingX TSC seat. You're a great candidate and would’ve been a valuable member of the TSC group, if elected. I hope you will consider running for a seat again in the future, to grab the opportunity to be part of the group. I will send out election updates in a separate email. Thanks and Best Regards, Ildikó
