05/26/2021 Attendees: Bart W, Steve G, Frank M, Charles S, Scott L, Jackie H, Linda W, Mark A 1. OS Distro (Mark) * Python3 Status(Frank) o change happening on CentOS branch, have only one person currently working on. o will get more people to look at it soon. o Current progress: Services comes up to allow controller to unlock. However, there are more work to be done after the contorller is unlock. * Debian OS Transition Status (Mark) o Overall Build architecture spec and STX tool spec are accepted. Gerrit pull commits will be coming in soon o 5.10 Kernel Specification + By tomorrow, Spec for 5.10 kernel will be submitted + will cover both the 5.10 StartlingX's 6 as well as Debian transition: for 6, will be covered by CentOS's environment and for Debian OS will be using debian's environment o Story board is already created: https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/2008921 + https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/2008921including VRF o When will the kernel would be available on CENGN? or allow the build folks to have access to the kernel to give it a try in a few weeks. Mark A. will check on when will be available for community team members to have a look and play with. * Looking at miniq, suggested by Matt from PTC, supports docker compose file and builds * Please feel free to play with Pulp, because the docker image that we will be using are already in Docker registry. 2. Multi-OS (Jackie) * Transition to Debian work will be reuseful for Yocto Project * LAT (Linux Assembely Tool) will be useful for Yocto Project o the Yaml file will be the same, but the package names will be different * Pulp (rpm repository tool) will be useful for Yocto Project * One will be changed is the OBS (this will not be useful for Yocto project), but will need to rebuild * Image building and handling of build packages will be the same * Source code and binaries will be slightly different * StarlingX 5.0 is on its way to GA, will be discuss it in 5 minutes in TSC call.
