Re: [Starlingx-discuss] Community Call (Oct 2, 2019)
From today's Community Call...
- standing topics - any Gerrit reviews that need attention? - per Saul, there are a bunch of Multi-OS reviews out there, some are languishing - general request for the cores to take a look - sanity - any reds since last call? - no, all green - any unanswered calls for assistance on the mailing list? - nothing major since last time - Brucej: The recent updates to Kubernetes 1.16 and to add Redfish support are both great candidates for Release Notes for 3.0, for docs.starlingX.io and maybe even a blog post. - Can the teams doing the development also make the doc updates (with the help of the Docs team of course)? Are new tests or changes to existing tests needed? - general PSA about these changes - for Kubernetes 1.16, there are some Kubernetes API changes - MultiOS - openSUSE Status - Saul - mostly covered by the note above re: Gerrit reviews that need attention - generally making good progress - Project Consolidation - the review: https://review.opendev.org/#/c/683410/1 - Ildiko's email: http://lists.starlingx.io/pipermail/starlingx-discuss/2019-September/006348.... - Bruce - how active are the projects in question? - Dariush - all active, not necessarily at the same time - with consolidation, there could be a regular meeting/minutes, like other projects - Bart - this would help get the Community involved, as such it wouldn't make sense to have regular meetings/communication for each of the current projects - the name - platform is too vague/confusing - we agreed to go with flock-services instead - Election - Ildiko will send a mail out reminding folks that the nomination period starts next week - 2.0 Retrospective - part two - Frank - a 'good thing' was how members of the Community picked up some of the Containerization work - Saul - documentation is key to enable this - Bruce - we need to make it easier for Community members to find work items that need to be done (we started using the 'help wanted' tag bug) - Bill - maybe add this as a standing item to the Community meeting? - Frank - the willingness to take this on, by the Community members that did, was important - Bruce - we have to improve on how to predict the content for the release - Mike - we could use more input from the Community on the content of a given topic - Ada - the test team could have been more involved, earlier, with the features - which they're doing now - the split between the 2 test teams was good for focus - AR Updates - Sep 25, 2019 -- Doc Team -- find a place for Sai Chandu's images/documentation - Oct 2: We believe this will go into our StarlingX-in-a-box topic as captured in https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/2006622. - Bruce has volunteered to help Sai with the contribution: http://lists.starlingx.io/pipermail/starlingx-discuss/2019-September/006316.... - Sep 11, 2019 -- TEAM -- complete project sub-team re-alignment, need to finish this before we start the PL/TL election cycle, per TSC and https://review.opendev.org/#/c/680514/ - Oct 2: feels like we're convering in time, per Project Consolidation topic above - Sep 11, 2019 -- Abraham/Build -- sort out how/when to finish this off the renaming of the to-be-renamed system-client (nee: cgcs-client) - Oct 2: help wanted - Sep 11, 2019 -- Bruce -- identify the feature documentation gaps - Oct 2: Mike will provide a top 5 list - July 31, 2019 -- Ada/Yang -- combine sanity runs/reports - Oct 2: per Ada, their target for this is Oct 28 - June 26, 2019 -- Abraham -- provide a forecast for providing a Docker image list - Oct 2: for now Christopher will send the list separately, and will get the info included in the sanity report - May 8, 2019 -- Frank -- follow up with CENGN on storage for really large files for reference in Launchpads - Oct 2: internal testing of web i/f is in progress -----Original Message----- From: Zvonar, Bill Sent: Tuesday, October 1, 2019 4:39 PM To: 'starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io' <starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io> Subject: Community Call (Oct 2, 2019) Hi all, reminder of the Community call tomorrow.
