[Starlingx-discuss] Distributed Cloud in the overview slide deck update
Hi, I’ve been going through the new overview slide deck that is proposed to describe the enhanced platform: https://github.com/StarlingXWeb/starlingx-website/files/3392060/StarlingX.On... I came across a section on Distributed Cloud which got me a bit confused as if I remember correctly we said that this functionality was delayed until the 3.0 release. To make sure communications around 2.0 are accurate, my question would be if the functionality in the slides covers only a subset of features that was planned for 2.0, did the feature fully make it into 2.0 or the slides are containing information about 2.0 + 3.0? Thanks and Best Regards, Ildikó
Hi, The code for the feature is partly in the 2.0 (not all) and no testing is been done on it by verification teams. It was officially voted out of 2.0 by TSC and it will be part of 3.0. Hey Ildiko, ... i’m just getting back from 2-weeks vacation ... Not sure if you got an answer to this. You’re correct, DC is not in STX 2.0 . We should either remove the slide or mark it as future direction. Greg. Hi Greg, Yes I did, thank you. I’m kind of leaning towards removing them for now and put them back once the feature is released. Just to be sure people don’t get confused on what is available in the already released software. We are having a community marketing planning call today where we plan to go through the slides and collect feedback and decide on final content. The meeting is at 1500 UTC, you can find further details here: https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/2019_StarlingX_Marketing_Plans Can you join the call? Thanks, Ildikó
