[Starlingx-discuss] Minutes: StarlingX Release Meeting - Feb 27/2020
Agenda/Minutes are posted at: https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/stx-releases Test Team Update - Team in Europe is ramping up - First task is to convert the robot sanity test into the pyTest - 30 TCs converted so far - Still working on re-factoring code - Yang can help answer questions about pytest - Nick's team is also visiting Ada's team for training and ramp up activities - Waiting for hardware - Currently testing on two virtual environments - No ETA for when this hardware will arrive. Expect to have an ETA for some of the equipment by EOW. - Bruce expects another 4-6 weeks until there is a fully equipped hardware lab - This would put this to the middle of April - Current start for Release Regression is end of April, so this is a bit tight. - This also pauses a risk for Feature Testing (done by the test team). - Expect to be able to use Ada's team hardware for another 3 weeks - Weekly test meetings are due to start the week of March 9. stx.4.0 - Unassigned Documentation Tasks - per Kristal's update on Feb 19 Community Call - Kris: unassigned documentation tasks for r4 features - AR: Bill will add these to the agenda for the release team meeting... - Starlingx/integ - https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/2006711 >> Teresa Ho - https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/2006740 >> Vinay V - https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/2005496 >> this is no longer part of stx.4.0. Commitments for CentOS8, Ceph, ..etc are higher priority. - There are also a large number of tasks still to do. How do we keep the momentum going? - Feature Planning - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1a93wt0XO0_JvajnPzQwnqFkXfdDysKVnHpbr... - Most plans are still not updated. Ghada to send a reminder to the PLs / Feature Prime - Kata Containers - Main functionality merged. - Remaining items: - switch armada to run with containerd - Document for config and usage (needs to be done in stx4.0) - IPv6 >> this went into Kata master, but isn't in the release that StarlingX is using - Current proposal is to delay the ream until stx.5.0 as Shuicheng is focused on CentOS8 now. - No feature testing done -- only testing by the developer - Open Bugs - https://bugs.launchpad.net/starlingx/+bug/1864383 - https://bugs.launchpad.net/starlingx/+bug/1864382 - https://bugs.launchpad.net/starlingx/+bug/1864372 - Action: Bruce to follow up with Yong on the plan to complete the kata work - Layered Build - Sanity is reporting issues in some labs; still unclear what the root-cause is. Scott is trying to reproduce. - https://bugs.launchpad.net/starlingx/+bug/1864221 - If the issue cannot be reproduced in WR, we need to dig into what is different about the Intel env.
