[Starlingx-discuss] Notes: Weekly StarlingX non-OpenStack Distro meeting, 1/23
Agenda & Notes for 1/23 meeting: 1. CentOS 7.6 upgrade status (Shuicheng/Martin) 1.1 srpm & rpm upgrade status: Done. 49 srpm: 30 upgraded, 19 invalid (15 puppet srpm dropped to be upgraded). 650+ rpm be upgraded. basic deployment tests have done on both VE and bare metal. code rebase from master done by Saul yesterdyay and will rebuild before pass the image to GDC and WR test team. 1.2 kernel & out of tree driver upgrade status: code under review for merge. Plan to provide test ISO before end of this week, after code rebased from master merged, and basic deploy test done. several driver patches require +2 before merge. Now, it's ~10 patches under review. Numan will bulid the image from feature branch once all patches are merged, so that the build can be easy without cherry pick the patches pending. 2. Ceph upgrade (Vivian/Changcheng) Liang Fang from Vivian team join the effort. Workaround to enable Ceph-mgr-deoman & Restful plugin servives. Try to enable Ceph-mgr in controller-0 before other Ceph-mon on controller-1 and storage-0. Ovidiu's comments is that this WR doesn't work as it breaks the HA and will cause the split-brain issue. WR stopped here. Yong is trying to help, without WR and go through the normal way (through SM and Puppet?) Ceph-Python-client refactoring in progress. There are 214 API in the lib, not all of them are used. 29 API are used are just finished refactored, 8 API are tested by checking the API output data format. The remaining 21 API still pending validation on running system. Liang has dedicated storage setup and learning sysInv code. Ceph 13.2.2 output is different from Ceph 10, the API in sysInv needs to remain unchanged, so we need to use a proxy lib (Ceph-Python-client) btw sysInv and Ceph 13. Still questions remain on SysInv API should change or not - working w/ Ovidiu on this change if sysInv API change could be avoid. No API found so far from sysInv directly call Ceph 13. China team will work till end of next week (Jan 31). 3. Python2to3 status (Austin) stx-distcloud patch merged. stx-config, stx-distcloudclient and stx-integ are still open. unit test patches for stx-config (sysInv) under review and should be able to merge this week. Victor: ETA for stx-distcloudclient patches, end of next week. Python3 testing after master switch to Stein for compatibility issue. 4. Bug triage (Cindy) 7 bugs pending, reviewed the old ones and make sure we have owner working on the bugs. Victor will work w/ GDC engineer for the bug assigned to Cesar. 5.
