[Starlingx-discuss] Duplex: Cannot unlock controller-0, because of missing OAM interface
Hi, I need help understanding this issue: After configuring according to the installation guide lines I cannot unlock controller-0, because of a missing oam interface: root@localhost ~(keystone_admin)]# system host-unlock controller-0 Can not unlock a controller host without an oam interface. Add an oam interface before re-attempting this command. The command [root@localhost ~(keystone_admin)]# system network-list +----+--------------------------------------+-----------+-----------+---------+--------------------------------------+ | id | uuid | name | type | dynamic | pool_uuid | +----+--------------------------------------+-----------+-----------+---------+--------------------------------------+ | 2 | 4d532cb8-01f6-463d-8727-2884a65e5068 | pxeboot | pxeboot | True | 70f7017b-83b4-47ba-b414-b5098ad1cfd0 | | 3 | 86224548-3c59-45ff-a244-349850e92168 | oam | oam | False | 81febeed-1c71-4fa0-92d4-e92a98e61c51 | | 1 | cf644862-61ed-4760-ae95-1d4305add490 | mgmt | mgmt | True | ae271028-9814-4757-981b-396862cf2deb | | 4 | e696bc41-b460-43c7-ba15-bc90a1b2e78e | multicast | multicast | False | 442b1b92-41fa-4b46-9560-88f930928578 | +----+--------------------------------------+-----------+-----------+---------+--------------------------------------+ shows the oam interface. Is there in issue with static ip? Any idea is welcome! Thanks Marcel
That shows the networks on your system, not the interfaces on controller-0. Run `system host-if-list controller-0 -a` to see the interfaces on controller-0. -----Original Message----- From: Marcel Schaible [mailto:marcel@schaible-consulting.de] Sent: Tuesday, February 26, 2019 12:11 PM To: starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io Subject: [Starlingx-discuss] Duplex: Cannot unlock controller-0, because of missing OAM interface Hi, I need help understanding this issue: After configuring according to the installation guide lines I cannot unlock controller-0, because of a missing oam interface: root@localhost ~(keystone_admin)]# system host-unlock controller-0 Can not unlock a controller host without an oam interface. Hi Marcel, I had faced the same issue following these steps[0], I'm not sure if this is the same case. Check the section "Configure Data Interfaces for Controller-1". In my case my network device was "ens3" not "enp0s3", setting this variable fixed the issue for me. OAM_IF=ens3 I hope this can help -Erich On 2/26/19, 11:11 AM, "Marcel Schaible" <marcel@schaible-consulting.de> wrote: Hi, I need help understanding this issue: After configuring according to the installation guide lines I cannot unlock controller-0, because of a missing oam interface: root@localhost ~(keystone_admin)]# system host-unlock controller-0 Can not unlock a controller host without an oam interface. Hi Erich, thanks for your reply. Where did you set the variable? Marcel

Is there in issue with static ip?
Any idea is welcome!

Hi Marcel, If you look into the "Provisioning the second AIO controller" section, there is a script to setup the network. This looks like this: source /etc/platform/openrc export COMPUTE='controller-1' PHYSNET0='physnet0' PHYSNET1='physnet1' OAM_IF=enp0s3 DATA0IF=eth1000 DATA1IF=eth1001 NOWRAP="--nowrap" echo ">>> Configuring OAM Network" system host-if-modify -n oam0 -c platform --networks oam ${COMPUTE} $(system host-if-list -a $COMPUTE $NOWRAP | awk -v OAM_IF=$OAM_IF '{if ($4 == OAM_IF) { print $2;}}') So you can just run the "system host-if-modify" command with the settings for your system. In my case I needed to change the value of OAM_IF. -Erich On 2/27/19, 5:17 AM, "Marcel Schaible" <marcel@schaible-consulting.de> wrote: Hi Erich, thanks for your reply.
