[Starlingx-discuss] Notes / summary of today's build system call
We had a call today to discuss build system issues. The Notes are here: https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/stx-status. The problem statement is that the current build is not stable, as the import mirror has been hard to set up for just about everyone and needs to be changed on a daily basis as packages are changed upstream. In the short term Bruce & Brent will look into hosting options for an external (shared) import mirror. In the long term, Saul will lead an effort to see if we can leverage https://openbuildservice.org/. Mario and Erich will join in, with Scott and Jason. This is the most important work going on right now, so please keep us all updated and to ask for any help needed early and often. brucej
Bruce, Brent, Hosting an external (shared) mirror is good to align the build environment btw Intel and WR. However, as we still have the build server hosted behind company's firewall, we still need to synchronize external mirror with our internal build environment. The part I am not sure is: any concern of re-distributing RH signed RPM in a public mirror? Or shall we re-sign it using our key if we patch it? Thx. - cindy From: Jones, Bruce E [mailto:bruce.e.jones@intel.com] Sent: Friday, July 13, 2018 12:20 AM To: starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io Subject: [Starlingx-discuss] Notes / summary of today's build system call We had a call today to discuss build system issues. I met with Arjan tonight. The Clear Linux team has an external yum repo they use for builds. I'm meeting with them in the morning US time to see if we can use the same approach. brucej From: Xie, Cindy Sent: Thursday, July 12, 2018 7:54 PM To: Jones, Bruce E <bruce.e.jones@intel.com>; starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io Subject: RE: Notes / summary of today's build system call Bruce, Brent, Hosting an external (shared) mirror is good to align the build environment btw Intel and WR.
