Hi StarlingX Community, I’m reaching out to share some aggregated data from the StarlingX User Survey. The below data contains results that were submitted in 2023. * Survey respondents are in different phases of evaluation: ‘Interested’, ’Testing’ and ‘Proof of Concept’ * 64% of the use cases are in the Telecom industry (uCPE, MEC, 5G, etc) * 72% of the deployment types is bare metal, while the remaining 28% chose the combination option * The percentage of respondents who are deploying Distributed Cloud grew to 82% * Deployment configuration - 54% of the responses contained Simplex - 54% of the responses contained Standard multi-server - 36% of the responses contained Duplex * 100% of the respondents said that they will be deploying a full, containerized OpenStack cloud (stx-openstack) as part of your StarlingX environment. 64% responded with ‘Yes’ and 36% responded with ‘Planning to’. * Top performing storage options - CEPH 54% - NetApp 18% * Acceleration & performance, most picked options - 54% listed 'Dedicated CPUs' - 45% listed 'Isolated CPUs' - 45% listed ‘PTP" - 18% listed 'Intel QAT' * Services and protocols - 36% listed 'Metrics server' - 36% listed 'SNMP' - 36% listed ‘OIDC’ - 27% listed ‘Kata Containers' - 27% listed ‘Cert Manager' - 27% listed ‘ISTIO' - 27% listed ‘Vault' - 27% listed ‘Auditd' - 18% listed ‘Portieris' * Docs average scores are down from ~8.25 - Usage score is 6.3 out of 10 - Readability score is 7.0 out of 10 - Complete descriptions score is 6.4 out of 10 - Easy to navigate score is 6.6 out of 10 * Net Promoter Score (NPS): 8.0 The main feedback that users shared was that they would like to have clearer documentation that describes the virtual setup, since they had continued issues with having a successful deployment. Users would also like to have more documentation available that describes a recommended network setup for the platform, once it’s deployed. Is there info on how many people responded to survey ? E.g. is this info from 5, 10, 100 or 1,000 survey responses ? Hi Greg, Thank you for your question. I didn’t share the number of responses to stay away from reading too much into that number. At the same time, it is still a small group who filled out the survey, we are still in the lower 2 digits. It would be great to have the help from the community to share the survey link with any users or potential users that people know!
