Re: [Starlingx-discuss] How to get access to Starlingx
Bharath,
Hi,
I am trying to install Starlingx, but due to resource constraints. couldn't achieve it. Can we install Starlingx on a 16GB machine? Are you trying to install on Virtual or Bare Metal? If you are trying on bare metal please be aware that you need 2 network interfaces at least, connected to a switch. The storage that the documentation suggest is just for recommended performance but it will depend on the workloads of your project,
If not, is there any way to explore the features of starlingx like accessing public installation of Starlingx? We don't have something like this at the moment, but it is a great suggestion.
I encourage you to test with your resources and please inform us any interesting findings.
Best Regards Bharath T

Hi Matrinez, I am planning to install on virtual environment.
I encourage you to test with your resources and please inform us any interesting findings.
Can you please share some pointers on a minimal hardware footprint? Is there any recording which explains internals of Starlingx? If you are reviewing the virtualization methods from Installation guide here: https://docs.starlingx.io/installation_guide/index.html You will find that the requirements are coded into the scripts and xml for virtual environment under libvirt/virsh. This guide lists 32G RAM minimum for the virtual environment. Martinez Landa, Hayde wrote:

I would suggest the same. If you want to respond to me offline I'm willing to share what I know about implementation of the virtual environment. But this caveat: a host with 16G will not allow StarlingX to do much-if-any work if you can get it configured. M
Is there any recording which explains internals of Starlingx?
