[Starlingx-discuss] StarlingX Release Notes Content
To all StarlingX main and supporting projects leaders: In preparation to complete our documentation journey we need your help to write under this etherpad page [0] the content for your Release Notes including a Prelude and a couple of features to be added in your project repository, we are targeting this task to be completed if possible, end of this week. Please take a look at the example from Dean in the same etherpad page [0] submitted though a stx-tools gerrit review [1], we will take your information from the Etherpad and we will add it to the Release Notes commit. Thanks Abraham. It's great to see that the infrastructure is ready for the release notes. I want to send a few reminders to the project leads about the release notes (based on the October Release kick-off meeting held on Sept 5): o Agreed to generate high level release notes only (ex: no list of solved or open bugs, no list of every enhancement) o Doc team is automating the generation of the release notes. o Automated release notes are created per repo. o Each sub-team decides whether to list some key features or at least an introduction to the sub-project (main functionality, etc) Regards, Ghada -----Original Message----- From: Arce Moreno, Abraham [mailto:abraham.arce.moreno@intel.com] Sent: Monday, September 17, 2018 11:30 AM To: 'starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io' Subject: [Starlingx-discuss] StarlingX Release Notes Content To all StarlingX main and supporting projects leaders: In preparation to complete our documentation journey we need your help to write under this etherpad page [0] the content for your Release Notes including a Prelude and a couple of features to be added in your project repository, we are targeting this task to be completed if possible, end of this week. I've created a wiki page we can use for draft release notes. I've included some initial content from a spreadsheet that Ghada prepared. Please feel free to update as needed. https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/StarlingX/stx.2018.10_Release_Notes brucej -----Original Message----- From: Khalil, Ghada [mailto:Ghada.Khalil@windriver.com] Sent: Tuesday, September 18, 2018 6:57 AM To: Arce Moreno, Abraham <abraham.arce.moreno@intel.com>; 'starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io' <starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io> Subject: Re: [Starlingx-discuss] StarlingX Release Notes Content Thanks Abraham. All repos have now Reno as their release notes manager so let us know what else is needed and when it is needed for the official release notes in each individual repository.

I've updated the etherpad to have the correct RST format without using etherpad tabs and bullets since we're short on time to get these in... I haven't seen any reviews for this yet, if anyone is working on them please double-check the formatting locally to make sure it looks as expected. I would like to have these in before branch, it simplifies the sections down the road...who is planning to create the notes? dt -- Dean Troyer dtroyer@gmail.com

My bad, I assumed this was intended after we pass our validation. I am working on them now.
