Re: [Beginner] Starlingx for homelab use? and Issues installing AIO Simplex on bare metal
Hi Asa, Assuming the StarlingX build you used was validated. The issue is most likely either a configuration issue in localhost or an unsupported VM setting, e.g. VirtIO Block disks. I can try helping you solve your issue. There's some information that I'll need from you. It would provide be best to provide this via Pastebin link. 1. The localhost.yml 2. The ansible logs from bootstrap (Ideally with -v or higher) 3. Possibly required is also a collect bundle. Run `collect` on the system. This data will have sensitive information in it. Josh
Hi, Thank you for offering to help! This is an attempted bare metal install on a DELL PowerEdge R730. I've tried running on both the normal stx10 iso, and the 2025/05/25 build of master (http://mirror.starlingx.windriver.com/mirror/starlingx/master/debian/monolit...) The following logs are from the build of master from the 25th: (note: I'm running `sudo dhclient eno4` to get the network working before running the bootstrap playbook) localhost.yml is just the default config from here: https://docs.starlingx.io/r/stx.10.0/deploy_install_guides/release/bare_meta... with the following: oam subnet: 192.168.0.127/24 oam gateway: 192.168.0.1 oam floating ip: 192.168.0.127 (192.168.0.127 is reserved in my router for the nic eno4) ansible.log: http://pastebin.com/PV4nQbY0 collect bundle: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11HvJprQ8KqZlj8f8q2HlgNO1MCo7h2Hu/view?usp=s... ** also on startup I'm seeing a few errors, one of which is "Failed to start Kubernetes Kubelet Server."
