Will update the progress after Chinese National Holiday. Feature branch needs to be created on staging as well. follow the same process as of Libvirt/qemu update. spec files only on Openstack CI. test for Ceph upgrade: once Ceph upgrade is done, will handle it to validation team. Ceph configuration needs to be added. WR can help again this time. AR for Cindy to check w/ Ada with the plan of Ceph config lab. Elio: we are working very hard to get this setup. Question: Elio, what is the difference btw Ceph config vs the controller storage config. - Opens (all) bug on CentOS 7.5 upgrade (1794329): patch uploaded: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/605285/ let's review and +2 on this patch and get it merged before code freeze. -----Original Message----- From: Xie, Cindy [mailto:cindy.xie@intel.com] Sent: Tuesday, September 25, 2018 11:47 AM To: starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io Subject: [Starlingx-discuss] Agenda: Weekly StarlingX non-OpenStack Distro meeting, 9/26 Agenda for 9/26 meeting: - Review the "Team Objective / Priorities" again due to multi-OS sub-project team created (Cindy/Brent/Saul) - Libvirt/qemu upgrade status (Ghada/Jim) - non-OpenStack patch analysis status (Saul/Zhipeng) - Ceph upgrade status (Vivian/Dehao) - Opens (all) @ to those who has agenda items on the list, please attend; others, you're welcome to attend. This was merged this morning, https://review.openstack.org/#/c/605465/ contains the manifest change to pull the new branch stx/v4.7.0.
- Ceph upgrade status (Vivian/Dehao) Feature branch needs to be created on staging as well. follow the same process as of Libvirt/qemu update.
This is not technically a feature branch, it is the 'master' branch for the 13.2.0 rebase. stx/v13.2.0 has been created. You can create a PR against this branch with your rebased commits. Let me know when you have done this or if you need help with it. We will need a similar change to the manifest file as above to enable using the branch. dt -- Dean Troyer dtroyer@gmail.com

I don't believe the work is complete and no testing has been done yet. My understanding of the proposal is that the pull request would be done only when the content is ready to be merged/used (or close to it). Is that the recommendation? I realize that it's possible to put the code in the branch at any time and not change the manifest. But, as a general practice, we want to only push changes that are tested. As a side note, the ceph upgrade is not an stx.2018.10 deliverable. -- Dean Troyer dtroyer@gmail.com _______________________________________________ Starlingx-discuss mailing list Starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io http://lists.starlingx.io/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/starlingx-discuss

I disagree slightly, we only want to _merge_ changes that are tested. In an ideal world a good bit of the testing happens when pushed to Github or Gerrit...we will get to that someday. This is preparing the place to push those changes for testing, and to share them in a public place. All of the Ceph upgrade work done so far has been in a private location. We should be doing _all_ of this work in public. This is exactly one of the reasons we need to create these branches for rebase work.
As a side note, the ceph upgrade is not an stx.2018.10 deliverable.
This makes no changes to the existing branch and should not impact anything in the release cycle. dt -- Dean Troyer dtroyer@gmail.com
