[Starlingx-discuss] Starlingx stx8.0.0 iso update problem
I trying to update starlingx stx8.0.0 iso, but the output iso size is 38.4 KB and i get the error. ./update-iso.sh -i starlingx-intel-x86-64-20230211131909-cd.iso -o updated-11.iso -d 1 grep: /home/Desktop/updateiso_build_79R3Kf/isolinux.cfg: No such file or directory grep: /home/Desktop/updateiso_build_79R3Kf/syslinux.cfg: No such file or directory genisoimage: Uh oh, I cant find the boot image 'isolinux.bin' ! isohybrid: updated-11.iso: Success Inserting md5sum into iso image... md5 = 2cb586eb18989a68d5ed69fd568c7c8c Inserting fragment md5sums into iso image... fragmd5 = frags = 20 Setting supported flag to 0 Updated ISO: updated-11.iso
Hi, This looks like the temporary directory is not getting created under /home/Desktop, but it's difficult to see what's going on from this script output. I would recommend trying this script via sudo: sudo ./update-iso.sh -i starlingx-intel-x86-64-20230211131909-cd.iso -o updated-11.iso -d 1 If that isn't working for you, then edit the update-iso.sh script and add trace output. Add the line 'set -x' to the second line of the script (after the shebang) and then we can have a look at the detailed results. -Kyle -----Original Message----- From: mahmutoksuzz24@gmail.com <mahmutoksuzz24@gmail.com> Sent: Monday, November 13, 2023 1:55 AM To: starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io Subject: [Starlingx-discuss] Starlingx stx8.0.0 iso update problem CAUTION: This email comes from a non Wind River email account! Hi, I tried to add the second line "set -x" but no change. I take a look the update_iso.sh and the place where it looks for isolinux.bin is different. It should be under the isolinux.bin under the isolinux folder. After then update_iso.sh is ran completely no error but output image size smaller then input image. At the end of process i writed the iso from stick and tried to bare metal installation. Could not initialize successfully.
Hi, A couple of things: 1) If you added 'set -x' after the !/bin/bash line at the start of the script, you should see a very detailed log of script output. This is what I was interested in seeing. Please try this again on the otherwise unmodified update-iso.sh script and post a https://paste.opendev.org/ link of the output. You can email me directly if you prefer. 2) Did you try running via sudo? Most of us using update-iso.sh are using sudo since it simplifies the process of mounting and manipulating the ISO files. It is possible there is a regression in non-sudo usage. 3) Please also ensure that you have 1) the correct version of update-iso.sh for the ISO you are using, and 2) that you also have the corresponding stx-iso-utils.sh file in the same directory as update-iso.sh. 4) I'm not following what you mean by "and the place where it looks for isolinux.bin is different. It should be under the isolinux.bin under the isolinux folder". From your original output, the issue was earlier than that. This is a significant error - your ISO will not be rebuilt properly if you are seeing this error: grep: /home/Desktop/updateiso_build_79R3Kf/isolinux.cfg: No such file or directory thanks, -Kyle -----Original Message----- From: mahmutoksuzz24@gmail.com <mahmutoksuzz24@gmail.com> Sent: Thursday, November 16, 2023 8:22 AM To: starlingx-discuss@lists.starlingx.io Subject: RE: [Starlingx-discuss] Starlingx stx8.0.0 iso update problem CAUTION: This email comes from a non Wind River email account!
