Release meeting agenda / notes July 11 2019
stx.2.0
- Feature Exception Status
- Code Removal Stories: most code is in. 2 reviews left to merge.
- K8s API Auth: The proposal for this is to abandon this. The approach to use keystone as the API backend is not working and doesn't have much support by the upstream community. Need to close on proposal with containers PL/TL.
- Multiple cinder storage tiers: Get update from Frank once he's back from vacation
- Feature Testing Status
- Tracker: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15us6HWgcb0dmHHZe2SyOR_UI5BvVpoU8TCST0rQd4zg/edit#gid=1717644237
- Container
- Ada - 75/54/1/5 - 93% progress
- Numan - 82/58/3/0 - 74% progress
- We will close feature testing with this numbers, and will include tests for ironic and nova override in the regression cycle.
- OpenStack patch elimination
- Ada - 48/38/0/0 -100% progress, 10 tc deferred
- Numan - 8/4/4/0 - 100% progress

- Containerized OVS - 15/13/1/1 - 100% progress.

- Regression Testing Status
- Tracker: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MoBroFimeQjsJvCC_N_DSLYMQsNZVMzTwAVc5tPy_t0/edit#gid=838066175
- Running with ISO 20190705T013000Z
- Total / Pass / Fail / Blocked = 422 / 235 / 17 / 45
- Pass rate: 93.2%
- Raw calculation -- regardless of whether the reported bugs are deemed gating or not)
- Can calculate an Adjusted Pass rate that removes the low priority / not gating bugs at the end of the release
- Re-test of fixed bugs will occur in the second round of testing
- Test-case First Pass: For Intel TCs, expected to complete by July 12. For WR TCs, will get update from Numan
- RC1 -- Patch Checkin process
- r/stx.2.0 branch will be created at RC1
- Any bug that is "gating" stx.2.0 will get merged in master first. Then cherrypicked by the developer to the release branch.
- Any other features / enhancements go in master only.
- For the r/stx.20 branch, only gating items would go in. Nothing else.
- Specific CENGN builds will be setup for the r/stx.2.0
- All stx.2.0 test activities will be moved to the release branch
- Sanity will continue on both branches to ensure master remains sane
- Bugs
- Gating criteria -- severity & priority is under discussion in the community
- Starting with a bug scrub for the distro.openstack domain next week. Will see how that goes and will look to extend to other areas
stx.3.0
- Initial feature list w/ Project Leads available on TSC etherpad
- https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/stx-cores -- See "R3 Planning" under the 7/11 meeting minutes
- Agreed with TSC that this initial list is sufficient to declare stx.3.0 milestone-1 next week - 7/17
- Action: Ghada to send a note to the community meeting
- Action: Ghada to copy the current feature list to the stx.3.0 planning spreadsheet for the PLs to start working on their plans
- Using Blueprints for backlog management is still an open action. Discuss in next meeting.
- Do we start using this for new backlog items/features? Or do we need to enter features that were already approved for stx.3.0?
