[Starlingx-discuss] System Monitor Deployment (stx-monitor) - Cluster and Infrastructure Monitoring

File format change by itself does not create good documentation, as I said in my previous email I understand this was discussed in PTG and I believe it is a topic that needs to be discussed in community meeting and TSC, and as everything else should be voted on to become part of development process.
Philosophically I am not in favour of developers doing the final documentation as they are not trained to do product documentation, and you will end up with different style and not consistent quality. They should provide raw input.
Also their time is better spent in what they are trained to do, software design and coding.
But if community decides to go ahead as whole, I will oblige.

Thanks,
Dariush

Good documentation is very important to our project, and the Docs team is small and cannot create all of the content. We need the community to pitch in and help. We have to make a culture change and get into the mode of developers submitting Doc updates along with code submissions.

I'd be happy to give a tutorial on the doc process and file format next week at the community meeting, or any time needed.

Hi Saul,

I do not believe this Is part of new approved development process yet.
I understand that you have discussed it, but this is not part of current release/development process for STX-3.0.

Thanks,
Dariush

Hi John,

If this is intended to be a documentation submission, you should really re-work this into RST and submit it to the starlingx/docs repo. It should contain the content and descriptions of what the service is intended to be and how to use it.

This is what was discussed at the PTG in Shanghai a week ago.

Thanks
   Sau!
