Hi Alfredo:
In latest master, the ceph is not mandatory , and stx is enabling others storages solution .
For example [1] , netapp can be used as k8s PV and storage backend
Rook [2] is integrating into starlingx too , which can support K8S and Openstack .
User/customer can integrated other storage type as k8s application .
By this, you don’t need dedicate storage nodes.
Hope this can help you .

Thanks Austin.
does it mean that it will never be possible or it's in a roadmap?
Also is it possible to force/customise at your own responsibility?
Cheers

Hi Alfredo:
I think you are using version later than 3.0 .
The answer should be no, the compute nodes don’t have storage personality , so ceph osds are not enabled in compute nodes.
Thanks.

Hi all.
Just a quick question.
For testing purpose, we deployed a Distributed Cloud 3.0 with 2 controller. Than we deployed the sub-cloud with the option Bare metal Standard with Controller Storage Installation
Now in the future we will deploy Bare metal Standard with Dedicated Storage Installation
and I wonder if we can actually use the storage on the compute nodes rather than having dedicate storage.
Would it be possible?
Cheers
