Hi Bruce,

* [HSC] - Booting Controller-1 over VLAN PXE

  * trying to leverage an Ironic network to boot StarlingX nodes.

  * Not sure that PXE boot can be done over a VLAN tagged network (at all).
? Servers they are using support PXE booting over VLAN in the BIOS.

  * They can see the host in the host list and give it a personality, but then they get an error on the TFTP file transfer

  * Please send the logs / error messages to the list so the Networking experts in StarlingX can wiegh in

We did encounter similar issue while setting up Bare Metal AIO Duplex setup.

  * Its must to ensure network connectivity is proper.
  * Ping over mgmt. interface is working between the controllers.

Regards,
Susendra.

* [HSC] - Queries Related to Storage Node:

  * Can we integrate a pre-deployed Ceph storage cluster (already created by us) with the existing StarlingX Dedicated Storage Model, rather than StarlingX deploying its own Storage nodes.
? There used to be support in the pre-open source version of StarlingX to support external Ceph clusters but we're not sure that support was released as open source.
? We don't think it's feasible to support external storage clusters joining a StarlingX storage cluster but it could be a new feature to support an external Ceph cluster for a future release.

  * Is it possible to have a storage network which is separate from mgmt+cluster networks? So that all the storage traffic passes only through that network
? This is also a feasible feature that was previously supported but then dropped due to lack of user interest. It could be re-implemented in a future release

  * Is there a way to separate client traffic from Storage cluster traffic (running on Mgmt+Cluster Host NW) if we enable Ceph Metadata server on Controller nodes?

  * What is the upgrade path in a Controller Storage Model :- Will storage data get lost or will it be preserved while Upgrading?
? There is no support in the StarlingX open source project for software upgrades. There are commercial software providers who deliver and support software upgrades e.g. Wind River.
* Can someone please take a look at bug 1913043 "StarlingX Provision-Setup Error"?
