stx.5.0
- Status of Milestone-2 - Dec 18 (retrospective view)
- Will send the email to declare the milestone retroactively -- as per the minutes from the Dec 16 meeting
- Status of Milestone-3
- Features
- Feature List: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JbOQELqXG_GDoP1jo6YoRDytpTkJEs89TVimzvrqc_A/edit#gid=1107209846
- OS / Python3
- No plan to do anything related to CentOS8 / OS migration/alternatives in stx.5.0 as the timeline is too short
- The only item that needs serious consideration is the migration to python3
- Not much progress on python3 yet; currently being discussed at the distro.other meeting.
- No resources available to do the work as the current team is focused on investigating CentOS alternatives.
- Two options:
- Option1: Do all at once in a branch
- Option2: Do one service at a time and handle backward compatiblity
- Leaning towards Option2
- Effort: ~60 weeks (rough estimate by Bart Wensley)
- Continue conversation in the TSC / Community meeting on Jan 13
- Update: Based on discussion in the TSC / Community meeting on Jan 13, this will be targeted for stx.6.0
- Ceph Rook
- Reviews are still going slow; no progress over the weeeks
- Need to get commitment from the core reviewers to move this forward.
- Austin will send a direct email to the core reviewers needed
- Fault Containerization
- Likely a partial delivery due to python3 challenges. Code will be merged, but disabled by default.
- Feature Test
- No concerns raised on feature test
- Regression Test
- Not started. Plan to start in early Feb
