[Starlingx-discuss] Query on StarlingX R3.0 virtual All-in-one Simplex
Hi all, I have tried deploying Starlinx 3.0 virtual All-in-one Simplex. I'm following https://docs.starlingx.io/deploy_install_guides/r3_release/virtual/aio_simpl... . While doing Host Set-up, 4th step which is 4. Get the StarlingX ISO from the CENGN StarlingX mirror<http://mirror.starlingx.cengn.ca/mirror/starlingx/>. Alternately, you can use an ISO from a private StarlingX build. I get as below . [cid:image003.jpg@01D5ED73.7966F470] Can anyone make me understand, what each of the folder stands for?. Also, as a first timer which folder I need to go and download the ISO.? I have tried 3.0.0 under release, but ended up with issues. Should there be a direct link to output folder when I select Get the StarlingX ISO from the CENGN StarlingX mirror<http://mirror.starlingx.cengn.ca/mirror/starlingx/>? Thanks, Poornima

When I faced issues while I was installing 3.0.0 ISO, I checked /etc/buildinfo, It said, it is a 2.0 release build!. I'm not sure whether anyone has faced this issue. Finally, I tried with ISO under http://mirror.starlingx.cengn.ca/mirror/starlingx/master/centos/flock/latest... which worked as expected. Hence , I wanted to understand what each folder means in the link http://mirror.starlingx.cengn.ca/mirror/starlingx for my future reference. One thing you can verify is the md5sum and/or sha256sum of the iso file. I know we have a .sig file, but having the chksum would be an easier way to validate the file is correct. You can check with other folks who may have downloaded the 3.0.0 image and verify that you have the correct one. Sau!

Sorry, I don't think I correctly answered the question Poornima had, and I think that it might be beneficial to add a README to the top level, describing the directory structure. It might also be worth making a couple of tweaks. Under /mirror/starlingx we have the following: centos - contains what a copy of the 2018.10 release export - Empty (can we remove it??) f - Contains older builds from cento76 and stein upgrade work feature - same as f, could be both be removed or archived? master - contains master daily builds for both older monolithic build and new layered build /centos/lastest_build - points to the artifacts for the latest daily build /centos/flock/latest_build - points to the latest daily layered build artifacts. milestone - older builds from Jan 25, 2019 (looks like testing of somekind)? rc - contains build artifacts from the Release Candidates for 2.0 and 3.0 release - contains the artifacts for all the releases, not sure if we should have an archive directory or EOLed directory here, alternatively a README say how long support for each release could continue for. Maybe creating an /mirror/starlingx/archive to move 2018.10 and older feature branch builds and milestone builds Thoughts from the community? Sau! On 2/27/20 12:10 AM, N, Poornima Y wrote:
