Thanks Al!
I gave another try to bring up DevStack but found a different issue this time with stx-fault (after ‘fix’ about 5, 6 issues, which are file permission issues and easy to be ‘fixed’):
g++ -pthread -shared -Wl,-z,relro build/temp.linux-x86_64-2.7/fm_python_mod_main.o -L. -L/usr/lib64 -lpq -lfmcommon -lpython2.7 -o build/lib.linux-x86_64-2.7/fm_core.so
++/opt/stack/stx-fault/devstack/lib/stx-fault:install_fm_common:245 sudo make DEST_DIR=/usr BIN_DIR=/bin LIB_DIR=/lib INC_DIR=/include MAJOR=1 MINOR=0 install_non_bb
make: *** No rule to make target `install_non_bb'. Stop.
+/opt/stack/stx-fault/devstack/lib/stx-fault:install_fm_common:1 exit_trap
Anybody hit similar issue? Or what am I missing here? I’m using https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/StarlingX/Devstack/stx-config/localrc as local.conf<https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/StarlingX/Devstack/stx-config/localrc%20as%20local.conf>.

I’m not entirely sure I understand the question.
The devstack plugin was impacted by a Makefile change here
https://github.com/openstack/stx-fault/commit/93f316da167a5dbb99a234e022a134d16baa5449
There is currently a devstack review for stx-fault here
https://review.openstack.org/#/c/623590/
The code in that review is adding devstack as a zuul job, so it will have include fixes related to the Makefile in order for devstack to pass, and it to be able to merge.

Hi Eric/Al,
Can you point me the review this issue was involved? So that I can check the status to see I can try it again.
Thanks!

Thanks all!
The good news is that it looks the current codes fixed some old issues I hit before (or this time it broke before the previous failing point).

Hi
My bad, I wasn’t of this required changes on devstack. I’ll send the patch to solve it.

Marvin,
A change was merged on Dec 10 which changed the install_non_bb target in the Makefile for fm-mgr
There is an open review for adding a devstack job to zuul for stx-fault, so in order for that review to pass zuul, it will need to include the fix.

Hi all,
I tried to bring up Devstack/STX this morning, but got the following error, which broke the execution of ./stack.sh.

I’m using the contents of https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/StarlingX/Devstack/stx-config/localrc and created a local.conf<https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/StarlingX/Devstack/stx-config/localrc%20and%20created%20a%20local.conf>.
System: a VirtualBox VM:
Ubuntu VERSION="16.04.5 LTS (Xenial Xerus)"
Can anybody know if this is a known issue? Any more information regarding which version is working?
Thanks!
Marvin
